Jenna Fischer has become best known as Pam Beesly, the character she played on The Office. For her role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for the Best Supporting Actress.
Her birthplace was Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna watched as her mother Anne performed in church plays. She was awed by performance and theater began at a very young girl.
She's a trained actress who was back in theater following The Office. She was a part of the Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy, written and directed by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. The play was followed by her participation as the first woman to appear in Steve Martin's latest play Meteor Shower, an absurdist comedy opposite Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg, for a record-breaking performance on the Old Globe Theatre.
The Office star Angela Kinsey's closest friend from real life and Fischer launched with the Office Ladies podcast, on Earwolf at the end of October 2019. The podcast quickly became popular. Every week, it was within the Top Ten in global downloads, with over 200 million in just its first couple years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year Award in January 2021.
She is the writer of two books: The Actor's Life and a Survival Guide, in which she recounts her experience from St. Louis to Hollywood and her journey to becoming a successful actor. She is also the author of Office BFF's: Tales of The Office From Two Best Friends Who Were There (co-authored together with Angela Kinsey) The book is the story of their greatest relationship and their time for The Office.
