As I was a mom with one child at my side and other children within the cradle worked 12 hours a day sanding flooring and tearing off wallpaper. Ha! It was all starting to form, but there was still a long way to go. To furnish the home it would be a huge effort both in both time and funds. It was also going to be a challenge go to my favorite stores. To keep the budget in check, I began attending estate sales with three brothers to search for gems hidden in the dirt. The schedule we had for the week that consisted of spending Thursday through Saturday walking around sale houses and garages, purchasing new and old items. I spent the rest of the week working on painting and sanding the driveway. Looked a little something like it... This is where my passion for restoration of furniture started. Once our home was completed, I was unable to stop! There was a spot in the market that I could sell my pieces. In the end, I had numerous pieces that I did not think of a solution and outgrew the space. In my own home, I started hosting open houses in which more than 1000 people could come in to purchase anything they liked on the 1st floor within a single weekend. Growing Days was created in the home. Alongside my flourishing business, I also grew our family. It was like I was able to find the perfect way to balance being a mom and launching my company. Growing Days just seemed to work. My precious Nora arrived in the year 2013, our 4th child. My business was booming however I needed a break. I decided to take a break from making vintage furniture, and slowed down my pace in order to stay at home and take care of the kids. At the time, it was what I wanted. But after a short time the phone started to ring. They were asking for my assistance in decorating and renovations. The majority of them had attended my house during the open houses that were held for furniture. While I was working, I added clients in a series of. However, it didn't take long before I had many clients and operated a profitable home improvement business. If you'd said to me that this company of mine could become the premise of a tv show on DIY Network I probably would have laughed. As I reflect on the situation and think about it, I laugh.
